ArcIMS is a scalable Internet Map Server. It is widely used for GIS Web Publishing to deliver maps, data, and metadata to many users on the Web. For example, ArcIMS provides browser-based access to many GIS catalog portals that enable users to publish and share geographic knowledge with other users.

ArcWeb Services offer developers a rich set of Web Services Application Programmer Interfaces (APIs) for integrating mapping functionality and GIS content into browser, desktop, mobile, and server applications to help solve many different types of business problems such as analyzing demographics for economic development and real-time tracking of vehicles for fleet management.
ArcWeb Services is hosted by ESRI and offers five APIs, viewers and quick-start applications, as well as on-demand geographic and business data from more than 20 leading commercial mapping data and content providers. Does ArcGIS 9.2 work with Internet Explorer 7?
ArcGIS 9.2 was sent to manufacturing just prior to the availability of the final nternet Explorer 7 (IE7) release. The ArcGIS products are currently undergoing certification testing with the final release of IE7, and ESRI will address issues with using IE7 in an ArcGIS 9.2 software patch as soon as possible.
